THE ORB concept covers 12 unique private residences located around the world and serving as facilities for THE ROYAL CAPITAL CLUB and its investors.

We intentionally select localities and properties around the world which encapsulate the cultural and historical character typical for the given place.

The main conceptual feature is the timeline of the past, the present, and the future. At THE ORB, the past and the future should combine in the present, and deep tradition should combine with innovation.

This is one of the reasons why we chose a chateau typical for the Czech lands. We are bringing modern architecture and minimalism, which is the modern trend of this era.

Another reason we chose Protivín is the magical space in the attic behind the clock, where a VIP salon for the members’ business meetings will be created. It is illuminated through the clock face, which gives the entire space a kind of magic and atmosphere and underlines the idea that this is a place where the past meets the future, where I am, and where I combine tradition with innovation. This was the reason that the Protivín chateau was chosen as the pilot project and why the entire concept was called THE ORB.

 

 

This entire philosophy is supported by the architectural design we have created, respecting history and preserving it in as much detail as possible, but also using modern architecture and minimalism as a contrast to it. All chateaux used to be highly decorated, and the intention was to display the greatest possible wealth, but in the modern world space itself and the use of high-quality natural materials is starting to be a luxury. All the new door entrances, as well as the lift, the connecting bridge, and the glazed arcades, are designed as modern elements constituting a contrast and jointly generating the overall atmosphere of the space.

Surviving records show that Protivín was first mentioned in a document dating back to the 13th century, and over the years Protivín has undergone various developmental phases and reconstructions. The earliest reference is to an estate, a fort, and then a castle with settlement around it, which was followed by Renaissance alterations and Baroque alterations and additions. Protivín was associated with the important Czech rulers Charles IV and his son Václav IV, who pledged the chateau to one of his courtiers, and from that time the chateau was in the permanent ownership of the aristocracy until it was nationalized in 1948.

The building itself and its surroundings have historical protected status. The actual building sits in a 7.5-hectare chateau park with rare trees. A branch of the river Blanice runs along the boundary of the chateau park and creates a pleasant atmosphere with a water feature.

The concept for the chateau will be of a hotel character, with rooms, reception, VIP salon, conference room with facilities, restaurant with bar and terrace affording all the visitors maximum comfort.

The historical cellars in the chateau park with beautiful brick vaulting will be restored, and in the rear part, there will be a wellness center with a bathing biotope and, last but not least, a helipad.

The plan for revitalizing the entire complex, including the chateau, has been broken down into phases, with the first one being launched in the first quarter of 2022, which will be followed by the rolling launch of other phases.

Every input to the area brings with it a certain form of development for the surrounding area, including public services, so that we can achieve a balance and so that the intention of THE ORB is not viewed as a set of buildings for the global elite but as a benefit for all which works in synergy with its surroundings.

And for this reason, as part of the project THE ORB – Chateau Protivín, we have decided to revitalize the entire area around the chateau intended for the public and to develop the services and amenities of the town of Protivín, which will also act as a contrast to and in synergy with the chateau. We will soon present this intent as a separate project called Chateau Protivín – Homestead.
